About the Be Mighty. Recycle campaign

The Be Mighty. Recycle campaign launched in September 2020 and is Wales’ largest ever recycling campaign. Funded by Welsh Government and managed by Wales Recycles, the campaign aims to help Wales reach 70% recycling by 2025 and become a zero-waste nation by 2050.

Wales is currently third in the world at recycling and the campaign encourages Welsh citizens to recycle more of the right things more often to help get Wales to number one in the world at recycling.

There is still more that we can do to encourage everyone in Wales to recycle and partner support is a great way to amplify and reinforce the Be Mighty. Recycle message.

Partner support

The Be Mighty. Recycle campaign has received incredible support from all 22 local councils in Wales along with national partners such as local universities, housing associations, brands, environmental organisations, visitor attractions, sports clubs and government bodies.

Our partners supported the campaign by posting the Be Mighty. Recycle messages on their social media and internal communication channels, helping to target hard-to-reach audiences.

Benefits of supporting a Be Mighty. Recycle campaign

  • Supporting the Be Mighty. Recycle campaign on your social media channels will show your customers, employees and stakeholders that you care about the environment;

  • By sharing our campaign messages and using #BeMightyRecycle in your social media activity, you can generate positive publicity and media coverage for your organisation;

  • Your support for the campaign will show you take Corporate Social Responsibility seriously and you walk the walk and not just talk the talk!

How to get involved

We can give you access to a suite of Be Mighty. Recycle assets and materials online that you can download and use on your communication channels. You can support the campaign by:

  • Using our Be Mighty. Recycle assets, supporting copy and #BeMightyRecycle on your communication channels to show you are part of a campaign that is accelerating positive behaviour change;

  • Posting your own content and using #BeMightyRecycle;

  • Embedding the Wales Recycles ‘Recycling Locator’ onto your website or intranet, to allow your customers and employees to search for the recycling facilities in their local area. For more information, email WalesRecycles@wrap.org.uk;

  • Signposting your customers and employees to the My Recycling Wales website, allowing them to find out what happens to their recycling and where it goes;

  • Amplifying social media content by liking, sharing and retweeting our Be Mighty. Recycle related posts that you see on the Wales Recycles social media channels.
